Let me tell you a little bit about me and my journey to becoming a bit of a vinyl junky
Growing up I could never afford records and used to visit my friends and peers who were collectors, spending hours listening to the latest purchases whiling away the hours. Later we would go to house parties and raves and try to find out what the latest big tunes being played were. Remember this was pre Shazam and Spotify
Much much later I rekindled passion and started collecting vinyl after going to an open vinyl session called Vinyl Therapy. At these sessions you could only play 3 records, all on a particular theme, so you had to be creative and do a lot of research to stay on theme. However this really tweaked my interest and i began buying vinyl records. So what started out as a hobby has grown into a passion. I now run my own vinyl only session called Hands on Decks and a vinyl appreciation group called South London Vinyl Experience.
Through my running of the vinyl sessions I discovered the power of community and how pleasurable a simple thing like putting a needle on a record and hearing that unique sound come out of the speakers can be! Through trial and error I have had to become more knowledgeable about equipment and accessories around playing vinyl at different venues and my aim is to pass on that knowledge and experience and make new discoveries that will hopefully help others at the same time.
In order to produce this website, I have also joined a cool platform for internet entrepreneurs. If you have been thinking about starting something online, then this is the place to do it. You get a free website, and you can have it up and running within the first few lessons of the training (which is included within the test drive).

The goal of the website is to help others to help me ! I love playing vinyl records and I want to impart some knowledge around vinyl record accessories, pass on the passion for vinyl and grow a community of vinyl lovers! In turn I will be able to buy more records (lol) and grow the open deck sessions that I run

That’s so awesome! It’s nice to meet you Gaffer! I’ve always thought vinyl was interesting, and I know that some modern bands still produce some vinyl, but I’ve never really looked into it. It sounds amazing though! Are there any things you recommend for someone getting into vinyl collecting?
Thank you for finding my website & commenting, it is very much appreciated. If there are any open vinyl nights near you then they are always good to go along to as a good starting point. Also pop along to your local record shop ( new or used record) and start crate digging. You never know what you may discover in those old crates. They may even have a record player there so you can have a listen before you buy. Keep following and all the best to you !
